Size decides the method.

Filling a nail hole or a crack

Shake the tube first: the filler settles. Squeeze the paste into the hole, then drag the scraper across it at a low angle so it sits flush.

For a hairline crack, fit the nozzle extender and run the paste along the crack, then scrape across it.

Let it dry. Our tub kit's directions give about 3 hours, longer in cold or damp air. Sand lightly with the sandpaper in the box and paint.

Bigger holes need mesh

Paste on its own sinks into a hole wider than a coin. Stick a self-adhesive mesh patch over the hole first, then spread paste over the mesh and feather the edges.

Our tub kit includes a 2 inch and a 4 inch patch. Holes bigger than that need a drywall patch or a professional.

In cold weather

The paste thickens in the cold. Take the cap off, stir in about 5 ml of hot water, close and shake. Store the kit between -2 and 45 degrees Celsius.

Stains on the wall are a different job

Paste and paint will hide a dark stain for a while, not fix it. The EPA says it directly:
